Peterborough canoe

This is a FULLY ASSEMBLED replica of a Peterborough Canoe. It looks and feels like a miniature real boat. This 23.5-inch model is strip built from the highest quality of woods by master artisans using “plank on frame” construction, just like real boats. Each model takes about 50 hours to construct and undergoes a demanding quality-control process. Among the details of this boat model: interior ribs, 2 oars, oar holders, brass nameplate and wood stand. The boat is wood, through and through!

History

The Peterborough Canoe design is a copy of a particular canoe once made by the Peterborough Canoe Company. It was founded in 1892 by William H. Hill and Elihu Edwards, manufactured wooden canoes in a factory located at the corner of King and Water Streets in the city of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
