Gondola Italian Tapestry

Gondola is an Italian jacquard woven wall tapestry. This image portrays a dusky Venice sky. A lady standing in a gondola pays homage to the Madonna and Child above. Venetians celebrate The Feast-day of the Madonna della Salute On November 21, where they thank the Virgin Mary for saving from the plague epidemic in 1630-38 with a pilgrimage to Santa Maria della Salute.
