Pokémon Blue Version is one of the original role-playing games that launched the Pokémon franchise. Originally released for the Game Boy (GB) in North America in September 1998, it is also fully compatible with the Game Boy Color (GBC), where it can be played with limited color palettes.

Game Overview

• The Mission: You play as a young Pokémon Trainer starting in Pallet Town. Your primary goals are to defeat eight Gym Leaders to challenge the Elite Four and to complete your Pokédex by collecting all 150 original Pokémon.
• Core Gameplay: The game features turn-based combat where you capture wild Pokémon using Poké Balls and train them to evolve into more powerful forms.
• Version Exclusives: To "catch 'em all," you must trade with players who have Pokémon Red Version. Pokémon unique to the Blue version include Magmar, Pinsir, Vulpix, Meowth, and Victreebel. 

Technical Features & Compatibility

• Hardware Compatibility: While it is a standard Game Boy game, it is playable on Nintendo Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance systems.
• Visuals & Sound: The original release features monochromatic pixel art and 4-bit background music. On a GBC, players can choose different color palettes by holding specific button combinations during the boot-up screen.
• Connectivity: Players can battle and trade using a Game Boy Link Cable.
