This chasing hammer from Fretz® is ideal for heavier chasing, chiseling, riveting or peening work. The large, flat round face is intended for striking chasing tools or punches; the smaller half-ball face is intended for peening and riveting. When used properly, the weight of the head, rather than the muscles in your arm and hand, drives the downward motion of this tool.

Designed by Bill Fretz, this hammer is built for toughness and durability. The handle is made of Padauk wood, known for its strength, stability and beauty, and is oil-finished; it's specially shaped to give you a light touch, and the narrowed neck creates a slight springiness that allows some bounce-back with each strike, producing improved control and reduced muscle fatigue. The head is cast from 420-grade stainless steel and tool hardened to 50 HRC for maximum durability and effectiveness.
