How does the built-in laser rangefinder work with the ballistic calculator?
The integrated laser rangefinder measures the precise distance to your target and automatically sends that data to the onboard ballistic calculator. The calculator uses your pre-programmed load data to compute the correct point of aim, so you can make accurate long-range shots quickly without manual adjustments.
What MicroSD card does this scope require?
The X-Sight 5 LRF requires a MicroSD card between 4 GB and 64 GB, rated V30 class or higher. A V30-rated card is recommended to handle the high data write speeds required for 4K UHD video recording. A SanDisk Extreme 64GB MicroSDXC is a popular choice and is available as an optional accessory.
Does the scope have an app for smartphone control?
Yes. The X-Sight 5 LRF connects via WiFi and Bluetooth to the ATN app, available for both iOS and Android. Is an IR illuminator included, and is one necessary for night use?
Yes, an IR850 infrared illuminator is included in the box. In very low-light or total darkness conditions, an IR illuminator significantly enhances the night vision image quality by providing invisible (to humans and game) infrared light. For serious night hunting, using the included IR850 - or upgrading to a more powerful illuminator - is strongly recommended.
